“The conversation develops its own gravity independent of whether the territory being absorbed is actually known or merely linguistically coherent.”

“Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent”
Ludwig Wittgenstein
Language has a mind of its own, historical, cultural, involving millenia of usage. It says something about language that LLMs can make sense while knowing nothing independently of reality. Language is a fast car at speed. It can go out of control and go where it wants to go without reference to the subject matter it is supposedly describing. It must be employed with care.
My favorite observation of philosophy, and it is in my original words although others cover the same ground, is that one cannot say something in other words without significant risk of saying something else.
In order to get from logical point A to logical point B in an exposition one must drive very carefully, this word is how you say that, specified.
It is temperamental, this language thing, drive with caution.
